Sound port plastic edge trim

I made a sound port on my $50 nylon and I want to bind the edges with some black plastic or hard rubber, similar to the photo below. Does anyone know what can I use to achieve similar results? Thanks

Automotive Drip edge molding? Like people clip to the edge of their car door.
I know it usually is available in chrome or black.

Or maybe a black rubber grommet??

I thought about that but those seem too big and cumbersome. I am wondering if I should maybe go to a craft store instead of a hardware store?

Black rubber hose as used for windshield washer?

Insulation stripped from copper wire?

It might work. I would prefer something that is not too round. Like this, but smaller maybe.

For something like this it is best to source the "manufactured" part before you do the mod, since your options might be limited. That said, I suspect you can modify your existing hole to work well with a standard rubber grommet from Amazon, like this one:

https://www.amazon.com/Large-Rubber-...ps%2C65&sr=8-3

just search for rubber grommet and be careful to check for dimensioned drawings, since the verbal descriptions are often vague or misleading.

Good luck!

That actually might work. I'll see if the hardware store hame any tomorrow. If not, I might order a few from Amazon to try it out. Thanks!
