**TOP 5 FORUM RULES VIOLATIONS & HOW TO AVOID**

Although forum rules are referenced in the FAQs here, the moderator team has compiled the top 5 infractions to help members avoid making them, and the need for mod intervention. Please help us out. Thanks!

1. Rule #1 - BE NICE!: Please consider this forum as the virtual living room of its owner. Since inception in 2000, J.R. Rogers’ vision has been to offer a safe, respectful space for members of all ages to discuss our mutual admiration for all things guitar. Don’t say anything to anyone you wouldn’t say in person, whether publicly in posts or via private message (PM). It really isn’t that hard to communicate with respect.

2. Prohibited subjects: Discussing politics, religion, climate change, sex, Covid and other contentious subjects is not permitted. This is an acoustic guitar forum. There are plenty of other sites on the internet to discuss those subjects as you wish.

3. Inappropriate language: Foul or suggestive language of any sort, including masked profanity (by use of symbols whether manually or by software default) will not be tolerated.

4. Selling/trading/want to buy outside of the classifieds: Trying or even implying to sell, trade or suggesting wanting to buy a guitar outside of the classifieds is not permitted. It can be a fine line, but word your posts accordingly when asking for advice. Selling, trading and want-to-buy ads are reserved for paying Charter Members, but only in the classifieds.

5. Early bumping in classifieds - 24 hr. rule: This rule is intended to create fairness for all. Charter members posting ads must wait 24 hours after their last post before posting again as a means to “bump” their ad to the top of page 1. The only exception is when responding to a legitimate question. Consider editing your existing posts when possible to provide updated information (use “Edit” button, bottom right or “Go Advanced” button if more refined post adjustments are needed).

For any of the above violations as well as other AGF rules found in the FAQ section of the tool bar, the moderators will always have the discretion to edit and/or delete posts or threads in violation without warning.

How to avoid? Simple...if in doubt, always think twice before clicking the submit button or consult with a moderator in advance.

Important: Please do not publicly question moderator decisions. If you have any concerns, communicate with us privately by PM. Our linked usernames are listed bottom right of each subforum. Use the red alert triangle to privately report posts to the moderators you feel may be problematic (top right of each post).
