Photo on AGF welcome page?

What kind of guitar is pictured in that beautiful black and white photo on the AGF welcome page?

Do you mean the one here:

It's beautiful. I have no idea.

Yep, that's it.

My guess would be an Olson.

Here's the same guitar -- in colour...

Mau (JoeCharter) was being too humble to say this, but that's his guitar:

And I'll be less than humble and say I was the first to suggest this be done :)

Doh! Can't believe I did that. Sorry, fixed. :D

Noticed yesterday that my dentist's office has my name listed as "John." I have been unsuccessful as of yet in getting out of paying the bill on that basis :D

I'm not a name specialist but would suspect that "John" and "Jon" are derived from the same name.

In Chinese, Mao's name is pronounced differently and is not the same name at all.

For a lot of people in my situation, the spelling of our names was entirely made up when we moved to the western world. My grandfather, who spoke French fluently, even changed the spelling of his last name back in the 1940s -- decades before we were forced to leave by the local nationalists. "Lao" was entirely made up. There's nobody else in that country by that name.

Jeez, Mau, rub it in. Now I feel better

I have a friend from Argentina named Apolo. He got quite bent out of shape a couple times in the past when I accidentally wrote "Apollo."

I can relate to your friend.

To me it's a matter of respect. People can misspell whatever they want, they should not misspell other people's names.

That being said, I still prefer "Mao" over other random names... ;)

I'm only human...sorry. I think this is the first time I ever misspelled your name. Of course, I used to think your name was Joe ;)

If someone is constantly misspelling someone's name, then I agree it becomes disrespectful.

No offense taken, just doing small talk.

That being said, I've never called you "John", so the score is 1-0.

Some of my very smart and literate friends keep mentioning Olsen (sic) guitars. The man's name has got five letters... Sigh...
