Whats your favorite sounding Taylor and why?
Topic^^
Just curious. |
They all sound the same to me :p
|
the leo kottke 12, the gc8, and the 8 string baritone. tonally, they stand above the taylor herd for me. i like guitars with character and these three have it imo.

A BTO 616 that I never thought I would bond to.....but it's nice. One of the nicest I have played of any brand, but this is only a personal opinion.
I don't have a Martin or a Gibson so it's alright to say something about those? Almost seems that folks go out of their way to be negative about some brands, especially Taylor guitars. |

My custom Sinker Redwood over Macassar Ebony. Sweetest tone of any guitar I've ever heard.
|
Probably the GC mini. Keep in mind I used to own a Sinker Redwood/ Brazilian Rosewood Custom Shop GA
|
Mostly the ones with cedar top and/or rw/cocobolo back gets my ears' attention.
|
Loving the 320 right now.
|
My 2001 314ce LTD (Imbuia Back and Sides) .... Because it has aged nicely. It will never be a strummer like my Gibson J160-E but it has a sweet sound !!
|
I have been a fan of the 310, the 810 and recently the new 320.
Taylor does make a great guitar, but I am a Martin/Larrivee/Guild guy. Dave |

714 cedar/rosewood. I had a 2001 model that was pretty amazing. I occasionally played other 714's and they never compared

My 718e has adirondack GO hybrid bracing with bone nut/saddle and has a sound unlike any other Taylor I have owned or played. It has a deep sustained bass sound while still maintaining the Taylor balanced sound. It is also a Jumbo size but can be played fingerstyle or strummed.

1987 812. Deep, rich tone with sustain and overtones to rival any Goodall; and lots of volume for a small bodied guitar. This one has a 1 7/8" nut which was likely a special order by the original purchaser. 1987 must have been a really good year for Taylor as I had an outstanding '87 815 with great tone and feel that I sold only because I prefer a wider than 1 11/16" neck; and I have an '87 855 that is an outstanding 12 string, and I've played a lot of them over the years.

I really like the Grand Symphony size - great balance of bass and treble with the bigger lower bout dimension. My 2009 FLTD 416ce is great, but I wish it was a little more lightly built/braced.
