Double Sound Port?
Is there a good reason for a double sound port? I can see one, but two seem to open up the side of the guitar too much. Is that just me, or is this really helpful?

maybe if you move about a lot when you play?

Hi folks...
Kevin Ryan guitar with fluted sideports... http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3737/1...83f2fc6843.jpg Multiple sideports (adjacent to the neck with one on each side of the neck pointing straight to the players fretting hand) are found on classical guitars. In fact, late 20th century side ports really started with classical guitar makers. |
How much can a fluted side port contribute if your arm covers it up?

I played one and my arm came nowhere near covering it up, and it worked fine. But your arm it did cover a side port of any type, it would of course be useless. It is custom guitar option, so I'd assume Kevin Ryan (or other builder) could adjust it fit specific people's needs. The one in my Kronbauer was customized for me specifically to feed my left ear. http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2039/2...3a7148ded7.jpg |
Good to know. I'm such a twig that I'd probably only cover a few ports and it might function very well.
I'm going to get to see and hear some Burner guitars with and without sound ports. Very stoked to do a comparison. |
