Elliot Capo Question
Hey gang, I'm thinking of finally pulling the trigger on an Elliot capo, but I'm not sure if I want the 1 11/16" or 1 3/4" width version.
My question is, is there any down side to buying the 1 3/4" nut width version even though my main guitar is 1 11/16"? I would hate to add a 1 3/4" nut guitar down the road and kick myself in the butt, but if there is any issues with a slightly wider capo on my authentic '41 with a 1 11/16" nut then that's a no go. Thanks guys and gals, appreciate the knowledge as always! |
How many frets up do you typically capo?
Unless you play silly high a lot (on the neck, not your mood) my inclination is the Elliott made for the 1 11/16" neck. |
Elliot Capo Question
Pro: flexibility. Use it on a wider neck guitar or go further up the neck on your 1 11/16 guitar.
Con: bigger capo. Most like the small size as it doesn't get in the way as much. |

Phil & Connie are good about to responding to this sort of question, so it is best to ask them. When I ordered, we had guitars with a1 3/4 and 1 23/32 nut widths and we asked a similar question. Simply send them an email and you will hear from them in a day or so.
