I just discovered Dawes a few days ago. I really like what I'm hearing... Traces of early Neil Young, CSN, Jackson Browne, the Wallflowers and the Jayhawks.

My most recent download is Frank Zappa - Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar. It's absolutely fantastic from start to finish and I have been listening to it rather a lot.

I've been using The Soft Boys - Underwater Moonlight as music for my daily exercise routine for the last few weeks so that fabulous album has been getting a fair bit of work too.

The process of converting 4 sides of vinyl to mp3 has mean that Spirit of 76 by Spirit has been getting some overdue playtime.

Finally, I've been revisiting Jimi Hendrix - Axis: Bold as Love and have rediscovered One Rainy Wish. Over and over and over again....

If you're looking for singer songwriter then I would recommend that you check out Robyn Hitchcock (of the Soft Boys). His work is mandatory!

He's not all acoustic, but... I've really grown to love Jack Whites style lately. He just writes really good music, and a lot of it is acoustic. Hotel Yorba, We're Going To Be Friends, Love Interruption and Carolina Drama is a few of the acoustic ones that really sticks out for me, as well as the song Blunderbuss. He has also recorded some great covers like Sitting On Top Of The World and You Know That I Know.

Two acoustic songs, a small fistfight and an interview can be found here:

Do a YouTube search for Chris Knight he has a couple CDs called trailer tapes that are acoustic, he's from Kentucky but is very popular here in Texas.

Here's a sample:
