Beautiful guitar! Welcome to the Larrivee family. The OM is still on my list of must have guitars. I just took delivery of an OO-40 with a Torch inlay. I guess our guitars are brothers or cousins or something.
That guitar will bring you a lifetime of joy. Congrats! |
Congrats! That is a beautiful looking guitar. Great choice. I also have found after starting out looking for a dread that a good OM is about as versatile a size you can get. So much more comfortable for these old bones, and with the outstanding quality of guitars these days they have no shortage of tone or volume for most needs.

Huge Larrivee fan, and the 40 series is absolutely amazing! Big Bottom and wonderful even voicing. Believe me...this is a superb guitar you will be happy with....like forever!

Congratulations on your Larrivee. I recently purchased the same model but with Walnut back and sides. Mine is a keeper as well. Use yours in good health!

“I’m so new at this I don’t know all of the technical things I should be looking for, but I know it feels great in my hands and I love the sound.”
Looks like you have all the “data” you need. The technical stuff can come later. Congratulations. |
What is the neck shape like on the OM-40? Any idea on the thickness at the first fret?

Very nice!!
Have fun:guitar: madhat. |
Congrats on the OM-40. Love the torch inlay. The OM-40 is on my short list once I free up some space.
My youngest sons "last first guitar" is a Larrivee D-03. He played a Hohner for a few years, and once I knew he was serious, I picked up a lightly used D-03 for him. He gigged it though high school and college, and it's still his #1. I'm sure you'll be just as attached to yours. |
I played some 40 series larrivees a couple of weeks ago
,very impressed, but then again,I'm a larrivee fan Congrats on a great guitar Dave |
