Another bad Taylor on E-bay...
This isn't a fake Taylor.
But this definitely ISN'T a 814ce. I already notified the seller, but he/she claims that it says 814ce on the tag. Yeah right. The old number is scraped off and 814ce looks like it was typed on there with a crappy typewriter. http://cgi.ebay.com/2007-Taylor-814-...QQcmdZViewItem |
huh/ link please!
|
whoops forgot the link.
|
Looks like a 214e.
|
That's not even a quality fake!
|
Are they for real with this WOW........This is no 814 thats for sure..And this is what they says the inside label says clearly type over

Yeah. I mean, there's no doubt that that is a real authentic Taylor. I think what's in question is whether that's a 314 or a 414. It is definitely not a 814 by any chance, plus the back of that guitar isn't even rosewood so you couldn't even pull it off for a 414 LTD.
It seems like someone peeled off the label, rigged it with 814, stuck it back on the guitar, and tried to pass it off for a higher model Taylor. |
I called Taylor with the serial number and was advised that it was a 114 e. I have also reported the item on ebay, but feel free to do the same
|
Anyone going to report this?
|
didn't someone just report it?

yes it is a 114e
http://www.taylorguitars.com/Guitars/100-200/100/114e/ I can tell by the binding and the lack of bracing support on the back so it is laminate. Taylor made no full acoustic models in the upper ends that were the old number system except maybe 810. what is really funny is if the owner would even look at the description from taylor of what the guitar would be they could SEE it is NOT what they have. Gold tuners- Gloss finish are just TWO thing that this guitar does NOT have. It is possible that they were taken to the cleaners them selves but they can see it is NOT what the ad claims. NICE CASE THOUGH!!!!! |

oh yeah, this person's got a case... purchased extra
some of these ebay fraudders really needs to go to jail |
How can people be like that and try sell stuff thats not what there saying!
Surely Bob or someone at Taylor can do something about these people? |
I guess if all else fails just tear off the 114 and stamp on a new 814. good grief.
|
Hmm.
At least it's a one of a kind...the first 814 I've seen with Sapele back and sides. And lets not talk about the cover up; did he get his 8 year old to change the label? that is a waste of listing fees IMO. At least it is a buy it now with a ridiculous price, even the completely naive are safe from getting ripped off. |
It's possible this seller was duped into buying this guitar as an 814. Hopefully they won't try to dupe someone else.

Yeah it's a 114e with a deluxe case. Retard of a man. I feel like slapping that man(or women and yes, i would slap a women in this situation).
|
the guitar is a 114e

Get a grip guys. Seems as if the seller was betrayed himself, when he purchased the guitar. There is nothing wrong with the other items in his shop.
See it like this: here are a lot of experts in Taylor guitars and even some of us sometimes find it difficult to identify a particular Taylor. What difficulties must someone have who actually isn“t in Taylor guitars? The company I“m working at is selling acoustic guitars everyday but the guy running the department has no idea, what makes a Martin, a Taylor or any other steelstring genuine. On the other hand: ask him the same question about a Ramirez, Carillo, Burquet or Bernabe. You would be surprised... Report the guitar to eBay, to prevent people from bidding on the guitar and inform the seller, that the guitar isn“t what it seems to be and where he can verify the information on the guitar. Jm2c |

Okay, somebody's done the right thing.
"This item has ended" |
I wrote the seller and said that he probably wouldn't want to mess up a 99.2% positive rating after 10,800 sales by trying to sell this Taylor that clearly wasn't what its altered label purported it to be.
|
I, too, sent the seller an email describing the flaws in his 'description', and pointing him to the true description in the Taylor archives.
No response at all from the seller which prompted me to put him on my 'unsavory' list. |
